wird VILLALOBOS, im September bei dem 66. Film Festival von Venedig uraufgeführt,
am Do., 03.12.09., um 21.15 Uhr im großen Saal von BABYLON-MITTE am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, zu sehen sein.

Romuald Karmakar und Ricardo Villalobos, der Protagonist des Films, werden anwesend sein.

Es ist eine öffentliche Vorführung, also keine “Premiere” mit rotem Teppich und anschließender Party oder Ähnliches.
Da empfehlen wir am Tag danach die “Perlon Night” in der Panorama Bar/Berghain!

"This Is Hong Kong" is a video program that presents a selection of artists from Hong Kong reflecting on the idea of politics, history, architecture, postcolonial issues and daily life in this territory. The moving image has been one of the areas favored with an intense research in the creative practice of the Hong Kong art scene, and mark a stark difference with that of mainland China, reflecting on differences in cultural background and academic training. "This Is Hong Kong" presents a unique visual picture of what is Hong Kong now, through an analyses from video media, providing a fresh snapshot of development of the territory after postcolonial devolution in 1997.

The video program includes 16 works on video and starts with Hong Kong’s skyline in Kingsley Ng recreation of a light/sound score at night. Hung Keung delves us in the neighborhood of Yau Ma Tei and its underworld. Adrian Wong cinematic engages in the rituals of the famous Chinese Triads. Meanwhile artists like Leung Chi Wo , MAP Office and Kacey Wong focus on the architectural development of the city that has created some of the most impressive designs in the world. These works partly connect also with the notion of experimental cinema, particularly "Suck/Blow" created by Leung Chi Wo. Howard Cheng Chi Lai builds a “tableaux” of traditional neighborhoods through the analytical work “The Doors”.

Carsten Nicolai e-art-app

Ivo Wessel (Software-Entwickler und Kunstsammler, Berlin) und Gerd Harry Lybke (Galerist EIGEN + ART, Berlin und Leipzig) starten ihr gemeinsames Projekt: "art for mobile life". Im App-Store der Firma Apple weltweit verfügbare Applikationen lassen Kunstwerke mobil erleben. Diese "e-art-apps" sind als Serie angelegt, die man in über

80 Ländern auf iPhone- und iPod Touch-Geräte herunterladen kann. Sie werden von verschiedenen Künstlern speziell für diese globale Plattform konzipiert und jeweils von Ivo Wessel in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Künstler programmiert. Die "e-art-apps" feiern ihre Premiere mit der Arbeit rota von Carsten Nicolai und werden mit

weiteren Arbeiten international anerkannter Künstler fortgesetzt.

Ivo Wessel (software developer and art collector, Berlin), and Gerd Harry Lybke (gallery owner EIGEN + ART, Berlin und Leipzig), are launching their joint project: „art for mobile life“. Small applications, which are available in App Stores of the company Apple world wide, allow the art work to be experienced mobile. These "e-art-

apps" are designed as a series for download in 80 countries on to iPhones and iPod Touch units. Created by several different artists each one is specifically programmed by Ivo Wessel in close collaboration with its creating artist for this global platform. The “e-art-apps” celebrate their premiere with the work rota by Carsten Nicolai and will be continued with further works by international acknowledged artists.

"Kunst und Medien in Berlin"

hiermit möchten wir sie herzlich zu einem gespräch über

"kunst und medien in berlin"

am freitag, den 20. november um 20 uhr

im "general public" (schönhauser allee 167c)

einladen, bei dem wir gleichzeitig den "wegweiser kunst und medien in berlin" vorstellen wollen, den andreas broeckmann und carsten seiffarth im auftrag von mikro e.V. hergestellt haben.

in dem wegweiser werden 33 ausgewählte berliner institutionen vorgestellt, die im bereich kunst und medien aktiv sind.

das gespräch ist teil eines diskurs-wochenendes, organisiert von dock e.V., einer neuen plattform für die produktion und den diskurs von kunst und medien projekten in berlin.

Kunstfilm Biennale: BILD-KUNST Förderpreis

Im Nachwuchswettbewerb um den BILD-KUNST Förderpreis für experimentellen Film wurde die in Köln studierende Jana Debus für GREGOR ALEXIS, „ein behutsames persönliches Portrait zwischen

Distanz und Melancholie“ ihres an Schizophrenie erkrankten Bruders mit dem ersten Preis in Höhe von 12.500 Euro ausgezeichnet. Die weiteren dotierten Preise gingen an Marc Thümmler für RADFAHRER und an den in Berlin lebenden Mirko Martin für NOIR.

In the competition for young film artists vying for the BILD-KUNST Award for Experimental Film, Jana Debus, a student in Cologne, received the first prize of 12,500 euros for GREGOR ALEXIS, “a sensitive personal portrait combining objectivity and melancholy” of her schizophrenic brother. The other money prizes went to Marc Thümmler for RADFAHRER and Mirko Martin for NOIR.
